Year 6 - Trip to the British Museum
Year 6 had a very successful trip to London to learn more about the Ancient Greeks. The trip involved several methods of transport which of course was very exciting and as we arrived at the British Museum the children were impressed by the grandeur of the building. We studied Greek artefacts and browsed the exhibitions and then had the obligatory visit to the gift shop.
Albie Russell said the best part was playing cards on the train, Daniel White and Milena Harrison were amazed by the number of Greek artefacts and the fact that they were actually the real ones from so long ago and many of the children had the giggles in the exhibition rooms with the scantily clad Greek statues! The children have already used some of the knowledge they gleaned from the Greek pot designs to help them recreate a clay tile in art back at school.
Thank you to the parents and governors who accompanied us on the trip – without their assistance trips like this could not go ahead.
