E-Safety Awareness

The internet has changed all of our lives, particularly our children's.  As a result it is increasingly more important to make sure our children know how to stay safe online.

As part of our computing curriculum, children are taught about the risks they may encounter online. In addition, throughout the year there will be assemblies dedicated to a different aspect of E-safety.

Today the focus was on teaching the children the importance of not sharing personal details. We watched an episode of Hector's World and discussed how chatting to people through online games could become very dangerous if we shared details; such as our name, age and school.

Children in Years 3 - 6, may want to explore the Thinkuknow web page, to find out more ways to stay safe online.

If you as a parent, feel unsure about what your child is doing online, or wonder if what they are doing is safe, follow this link to find simple guidance and practical tips.
